Close your eyes and imagine what your ideal life looks like. What does your house look and feel like inside? What are you doing for work? How do you feel when you wake up in the morning? What do you do in your free time? How happy do you feel?

I’m willing to bet that the vision of your ideal life doesn’t involve dreading getting out of bed in the morning to go to a job that leaves you longing for more. And it doesn’t mean coming home at the end of an emotionally draining day at the office to a house heaped in clutter and chaos, or spending your free time taking care of all of your accumulated “stuff” and looking for your keys yet again.

Instead, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that you envision waking up each morning excited for the day. Your job doesn’t feel like “work” because you enjoy what you are doing so much that you often lose track of time. When you get home at the end of the day, you smile as you walk through the door and are greeted by the calm, comfortable energy of your organized, clutter-free house. And that you see yourself enjoying reading, hosting fabulous parties, playing with your kids, and all sorts of fun, fulfilling things during your free time. Ahhh. It feels good to be you.

If your career, home or life in general has drifted away from your ideal vision, then it’s time to get back on track! It’s time to get back in touch with your ideal vision, to set some goals to get there and to get moving.  It’s time to get rid of the suffocating excess holding you back from your ideal home and your ideal life. What are you waiting for?

A Simply Neat Tip:
Spend some time on a Sunday prepping food for the week. Chop onions, cut up carrots, prepare a casserole. Every little bit helps. You will love yourself when you get home from work and are tired and hungry!
